Finished up my headlamp hood project finally.
Sure was a lot of fun. Since I can never seem to resist adding gold to things, I wound up playing with some gold leaf. When masking out my original design, I think it was a bit to complex for my skill level and things went south rather fast. I wound up sanding out and repainting for a 2nd round. This time I made the design a bit easier to cut out, and pre-cut the masking tape before applying it to the finish. This seemed to procure better results. However I wasn't to pleased with the 'sharp' edges, the gold leaf peeled away in some areas. Not to noticeable though...
Had I done stripes or something 'simple' it wouldn't have had that issue. I'll have to find some scrap aluminum to play around with down the road...

Hoping to do more of this type of stuff. Really need 'proper' tools though and setup, especially for painting.
Upon finishing this project, I can totally see Ahly becoming a reality someday! :D
