Skirt Work

Managed to finally get some free-time  or... better yet force myself away from a series someone at the last dollmeet... got me hooked on most recently... So I spent the past 2 days working on Hrist's new skirt using UV templates for patterns, I thought something looked wonky so I altered the pattern that came out. Sadly... my alteration was wrong, so that was one muslin attempt down. Seems to be pretty accurate, as long as you have the right dimensions for the unfolding process in the model. Kind of handy for testing how much fabric will drape where and how during a run simulation.

Setting up for a double hem is always lots of fun... especially with satin, it loves to curl and do weird things when ironed.

Sewing in one of the cords

Sewing in the arcs, least favorite part of this project, especially the zig-zag shape at the base that overlaps.

Hrist helping sew in some of the arcs.

Hrist testing out the fit.
All that's left is to sew in the back golden arc and add better fastners for the fore-flap. I will need to model out some golden tassel plates, and have those printed via shapeways, estimating I'll need 20-30 of those.
