Fabulous Fur

You know sometimes you get a crazy idea, and just have to do it? o_O Pretty much what happened with this quick project, I wound up making a small vest, part of another concept outfit I have going on. .. This was a good chance to experiment around with fur, and I had a lot of fun with it, vs the last time I played with fur.... and hated it. After finishing this project, I want to make Hrist a nice fur cloak.
But I better be careful.... Fur, gold, and embroidery could get ugly real fast.

I plan on adding a small cape/tail like thing to it, wasn't happy with my sketches for it still.

Lidia's Sword II

Last of the parts arrived, and final prep work has begun on finishing up Lidia's sword! Pretty excited about this one, I know I am about all my projects >_> but it's ones extra special for me, haha.
Fun stuff, however since it's pretty solid and not a lot of detailed pieces, painting this might be a pain.
Time will tell...

Story got a bit longer then I thought, so I decided to break it up into two parts. I'll be posting the other half in a week or so.

Lidia's Sword I

Main base to Lidia's sword arrived, need to wait on the other pieces to arrive, apparently there's been a delay at Shapeways for the side handles... which are small, and delayed currently. The rest of the blades been shipped, should arrive some time next week.

Ash's Sword Complete

Rather fun project, and everything went pretty smooth! Tried out a few new things making this, and it seemed to help my workflow a bit more. Different paints and sealers that is.

The swords about two inches bigger then Hrist's not to bad, and it's still pretty light weight enough that Lidia can hold it one handed.

It is dwarfed by Lidia's sword though. I received the first of 4 parts of her sword... >_> it's pretty big That'll be my next project once all the parts do arrive though.

Sword Work and Trip

Just got back from a short trip to the rim country here. Enjoyable time, I decided to take Lidia with me. We managed to get a lot of photos done, and pull off almost 3 miles of hiking into the wilderness. Loads of rain, hail, and strong winds sure made this trip an exciting one.
Once I get some spare time I'll begin working on Chapter 4 of my photo story series!

Sword update, I finished the base coat paint, and began adding the runes on the blade.

Also a further update, I think I'm done with Shapeways for weapons.... I'm planning to do Lidia's sword eventually. and had several models denied for being a weapon.... o_O Yet... I just got this 13.7" sword from them. To many silly regulations, there's a few 'work-around' but seriously? o_O Sure, Lidia's sword is rather menacing looking, and it can cleave entire planets in half... but just print the thing already!
Needless to say I'll be looking for a new company that can print models.
I know I looked into ABS before, and figured it was to much of a pain to clean the surfaces(acetone smoothing) My workflows evolved around plastic/nylon printing. I might have to force myself to accept something other then that though.
Well it's late, and I think I've ranted long enough.
